About Us

Northern Gateway is a very active branch supported by volunteers who contribute their creativity and time to make the branch relevant to North Bay and area in an area without mines.

The focus of the Branch is to bring a higher level of understanding of the minerals industry to the region, and to promote mining to the next generation of industry leaders. To achieve this, the Branch is involved in a number of educational initiatives with all levels of education including regional post secondary institutions specializing in the minerals industry.

The Branch is focused on improving the perception of mining in the public eye and providing our youth with a better idea of what mining is all about. This is done through programs like the Mining Teachers Tour, mining-manufacturing high school specialist programs, and Mining Week in North Bay. Social events like golf and the sea food mixer provide networking opportunities and raise funds to support the many worthwhile activities that the Branch engages in.
