About Us

The CIM Newfoundland and Labrador (CIM NL) Branch provides the premier mining event in Atlantic Canada every year: the Mineral Resources Review, jointly hosted with the Department of Natural Resources. This event provides the mining community of Newfoundland with the opportunity to share insights into mining, their stories and accomplishments. It also provides opportunities for professional development and networking and is attended by nearly 50 students, commonly providing an entry point into the industry.

In addition to the Mineral Resources Review, Distinguished Lecturer presentations, prospector training courses, presentations to students, and lunch and learn meetings which form the key focus of our Branch, we are commonly focused on exploration and prospecting. Mining forms the core of our efforts but many of our branch members are explorationists and our activities reflect this.
