Nipuni Amaratunga is the advisor, Indigenous relations, North America at Teck. Guided by a deep commitment to responsible, community-centered business practices, she began her career within Teck’s sustainability team, supporting initiatives grounded in relationship building, respect, and reciprocity with Indigenous communities.
Through organizational, regional, and site-level work, Amaratunga leads initiatives that advance Indigenous participation, foster inclusive workplace cultures, and address operational impacts. She works in close partnership with Indigenous communities and organizations, focusing on employee engagement, cultural awareness, and community development. She also serves as Teck’s partnership liaison with the World Economic Forum, supporting cross-organizational collaboration and leadership engagement.
Amaratunga holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business, with a concentration in sustainability and social impact.
