Call for Papers and Short Course Proposals: 59th Annual CMP Conference

The Canadian Mineral Processors (CMP) organizing committee is pleased to announce the Call for Papers and Short Course Proposals for the 59th Annual Canadian Mineral Processors Operators Conference, scheduled to take place from January 19–21, 2027.

As a premier event for the mineral processing industry, the annual conference serves as a vital platform for operators, engineers, researchers and industry leaders to exchange technical knowledge, discuss operational advancements and explore emerging technologies. Members of the community are invited to contribute to the technical program and educational offerings.

Call for Technical Papers

Abstract submissions are currently being accepted for technical papers addressing all aspects of mineral processing across all commodities. Case studies, operational reviews and research papers on the following topics are highly encouraged:

  • Plant design, commissioning, start-up and continuous improvement
  • Process optimization and advanced control
  • Comminution, ore sorting and flotation
  • Gold and precious metals recovery
  • Development and application of new technologies
  • Tailings handling, management and environmental stewardship

Submission Guidelines and Important Deadlines

Please submit all abstract submissions through the X-CD Abstract Management Portal.

Abstract Submission Deadline: July 1, 2026
Format: Submissions must be uploaded in Microsoft Word format.

Proceedings Requirement: Authors of selected abstracts will be requested to submit either a full-length manuscript (8–12 pages) or an extended abstract (2–4 pages) by September 1, 2026, for inclusion in the official conference proceedings. Successful authors will be allotted a 20-minute technical presentation at the conference.

Call for Short Course Proposals

The CMP organizing committee welcomes proposals for short courses to be delivered in conjunction with the 59th annual conference. These educational sessions provide an excellent opportunity to share specialized expertise and best practices with industry peers.

Language of Instruction: Courses may be presented in either English or French.
Scope: Proposals are invited across the full spectrum of mineral processing, including ore characterization, process design, equipment selection, plant monitoring and performance optimization.
Proposal Deadline: September 15, 2026
