Standards, Best Practices & Guidelines for Mineral Resources & Mineral Reserves

An online resource that aims to increase the discussion and promotion of best practices in reporting and valuation, guided by an advisory group of experts.

Canada Mining Innovation Council

CIM has helped to develop the Canada Mining Innovation Council website in order to provide information that will enhance the competitiveness of a responsible Canadian mining industry thorough excellence in research and innovation.

Centre for Excellence in CSR

A Canadian government initiative, to help provide tools and information for all stakeholders, and to raise the bar for CSR-related practices in the extractive industry.

Canadian Rare Earth Elements Network (CREEN)

The CREEN website is hosted by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). The purpose of this website is to act as an information clearinghouse for research, development and demonstration projects involving rare earth elements.

Rare Earth Elements & Chromite

There exists significant economic potential for rare earth elements and chromite production in Canada, along with a need for science and technology to realize these opportunities. The Rare Earth Elements and Chromite (REEChromite) Research and Development website is hosted by CIM on behalf of the program stakeholders. It provides information on the program, its participants, stakeholders, and the science and technology undertaken. It also includes summary reports (available to members) of project research and development.

The Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG)

The Global Mining Guidelines Group facilitates global mining collaboration on solutions to common industry problems, needs and technology through standards, guidelines and best practices. GMSG operates on the five principles of inclusivity, collaboration, innovation, optimisation and technology.

Underground Coal Mining Safety Research Collaboration (UCMSRC)

UCMSRC is a collaborative 'in-kind consortium' which brings together all of the principal stakeholders such as industry, labour, regulators, inspectors and universities, in jurisdictions where underground coal mining is active.
