Angela Hamlyn, CEO of CIM

Angela Hamlyn is the CEO of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), where she leads national efforts to advance a collaborative, innovative and sustainable mining industry. She is known for bringing diverse perspectives together and championing the belief that progress in mining is driven by people and the partnerships they build.

Angela began her career in public service with the Federal and Ontario Governments, developing expertise in policy, governance, and organizational development. She later worked in journalism and communications before joining CIM, where she held senior roles in communications, publications, digital strategy, and IT.

Now in her eighth year as CEO—and nearly two decades into her tenure at CIM—Angela is recognized for her strengths in strategic planning, corporate relations, governance and non-profit leadership. She remains deeply committed to mentorship and to fostering a resilient, forward-looking mining sector that leads with collaboration and community.
