CIM Distinguished Service Medal
Robert Onucki started his mining career in 1972 as an underground equipment operator. After graduating from the Haileybury School of Mines in 1975, he joined Inco Metals in the engineering department at Coleman Mine. In 1979 he left to try his hand at working for a sales company. After gaining experience with a few major OEM's, Onucki worked for Tamrock, now Sandvik Mining, in 1993. His last position at Sandvik was senior global account director, mining with responsibility for mining engineering companies. In 2013 he founded his own company, IAMNOOK, with a focus on business development, sales proficiency as well as fleet selection and applications.
Robert has been a member of CIM for over 20 years and is also a member of SME. He assists the various local branches of CIM in Canada and has engaged many mining students in major events sponsored by Sandvik, mainly at the Oyster Nights in Toronto and Vancouver.
