CIM-Bedford Canadian Young Mining Leaders Award

Julia Gartley’s career has taken her from remote FIFO operations, to corporate head offices, to her current role at BBA, where she leads the Vancouver mineral processing team and serves on their board of directors. She has worked on all phases of mineral processing: from lab test programs for Niobium flowsheet development, to NI 43-101 studies, to managing basic and detailed engineering, to on-site commissioning, de-bottlenecking, and operational support. She has been able to visit operations across North and South America, as well as Africa.

In addition to her technical work, Gartley serves on the board of Mine Shift (formerly Me Too Mining), and co-developed their DIGGER program. She has been on the executive committee of her Canadian Mineral Processors Region for several years, a volunteer for Minerals Ed, and a member of the CIM Vancouver Branch. She is passionate about continuing to improve the mining industry and supporting those who work within it.
