Francis Yungwirth is a mining engineer with 45 years’ experience spanning mine operations, exploration, management and consulting. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and started his career as a miner, mining engineer and mine rescuer in Lynn Lake and Yellowknife. He then worked for HBM&S Flin Flon as a surveyor, ventilation engineer, assistant mine superintendent and chief engineer of mines, and served on the Anglo Development Group for mine valuations. Later, he served as CEO and director for several exploration companies, providing expertise in joint ventures, option agreements and other business structures. Currently, he operates as an independent consultant mining engineer specializing in design, evaluation and regulatory compliance for early-stage projects, and royalty valuations.

Yungwirth promotes mining, having served on committees reviewing the Mining Act, a CIM peer reviewer and delivering preparatory courses for the P. Geo. PPE exam.  He is a life member of PDAC and CIM, and a Rotarian.
