Daniel Janusauskas works for Detour Gold Corporation as a strategic mine engineer. He is currently responsible for all life-of-mine planning for the Detour Lake Operation located in Northwestern Ontario. Janusauskas has worked in various capacities both at the mine site and in the corporate office. He previously worked as a mining consultant at BBA where he contributed to numerous studies and technical reports on major open-pit mining projects in Canada.

Since starting at Detour Gold, Janusauskas has worked to help bridge the gap between long-term and operational level planning in order to align with overall business objectives. He is also actively involved in facilitating collaboration between departments and various stakeholders in order to develop environmentally responsible mine plans. 

Janusauskas has as an interest in continuous improvement and mining technology and recently completed Lean Six Sigma training. He graduated with a bachelor of mining engineering (co-op) from McGill University.
