On November 18, UBC, SFU, and BCIT students from Mining and Earth Sciences programs met with industry professionals for an evening of networking, fun and the chance to win $20,000 in student awards, book prizes and education grants.

Dr. Caius Priscu started the evening off with a talk entitled, “Cruise ships, ferries, and tailings dam safety – Are we learning?” Matthew Keevil, Western Editor of Northern Miner and Manager of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at Ivanhoe Mines, presided over the evening's activities, which included handing out over $20,000 in educational grants, student awards and prizes.
