Saskatoon Section, Geology Division Scholarship) $1,250 N/A Awarded to a graduate student (M.Sc. or PhD candidate) in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan whose research is relevant to the resource industry in Saskatchewan, with a preference to the mining industry. Preference is also given to students working on Saskatchewan-based projects. Although there is no formal application process, students under consideration for the award may be contacted for CVs. February 9 Open to student members and dependent children of professional members of the CIM Saskatoon Branch enrolled in a 2-year(+) program leading to formal qualification from a recognized postsecondary educational institute (graduates not eligible; students on internships not eligible). Recipients must attend the CIM Saskatoon Branch meeting on March 23, 2017, to receive the scholarship. Graduate students may only receive this award once per post-graduate degree. Student members must have attended at least two CIM Saskatoon meetings between September 2016 and January 2017.

Open to full-time students enrolled in M.Sc. Geology at Lakehead University who demonstrate a keen interest in economic geology and mineral fieldwork. Information and exact deadlines are sent directly to students in the geology master’s program each year, typically in early or mid-January.
