2013 Recipient

On November 5th, 2013, the CIM New Brunswick Branch presented the winner of this year's $2,000 Rory Kempster Earth Sciences Memorial Scholarship at the New Brunswick Exploration, Mining and Petroleum Conference in Fredericton, NB. Bradley Robichaud, the 4th year geological engineering student at the University of New Brunswick—Fredericton, was the recipient.

Mr. Robichaud is seeking a career involving the use and the protection of water as a resource, in particular in the mining industry. Bradley is described as a hard-working and diligent student with a strong social and environmental conscience. He is a musician and songwriter for fundraisers, as well as a writer, working on a 10-song album to be released in the spring of 2014, and on a book called "Engineering Awareness." He has volunteered and has held several part time jobs since graduating from high school, one as a technician at the Department of National Defence while in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves. Mr. Robichaud was also involved with varsity sports while attending UNB St—John.
