The CIM Innovation and Technology Society of CIM (ITS) connects people and organizations across the mining innovation and technology landscape, bringing together diverse perspectives from practitioners, researchers, operators, suppliers, and policymakers. Through events, professional development, publications, and strategic partnerships, ITS will foster collaborations and knowledge-sharing, bridging the gap between technology developers and industry practitioners. By driving collaboration and breaking down silos, ITS will help create a more agile, innovative, and competitive mining sector, positioning Canada as a global leader in mining technology.

Vision

The Innovation & Technology Society is meant to be a catalyst in the minerals sector to accelerate the application of technology to achieve gains in productivity, performance and sustainability across the mining life cycle. The work that ITS will do is complementary to existing CIM societies and branches. 

Mission

Bridge the gap between technology developers and industry practitioners and accelerate adoption and implementation to improve productivity and efficiency.
