Richard Friedman was a research scientist at the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research in the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, BC, Canada.  He worked in the field of U-Pb geochronology at UBC for more than 30 years.
