The Process Gas Project included improvements to the Sulphur dioxide and acid plant gas capture from roasters, major enhancements to the electric furnace and new hybrid converters to improve efficiency.

During these upgrades the smelter operations continued as the projects were completed with more than 1,200,000 hours worked and zero Lost Time Injuries.

Glencore was chosen in recognition of the project’s culture of safety excellence, through team-wide support, implementing proactive audits and safety checks.
