Barlow Medal for Best Geological Paper

In recognition of the article published in the CIM Journal in April 2015 entitled The ternary diagram AI230 -Sr-Y: A new tool for the exploration of volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits

Michel Proulx obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in geochemistry from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) in 1987. He was a geologist and project geologist for the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources as well as for various small mining exploration companies. Since 1995, as president of Geo-Consilium, Proulx has been a consultant and prospector. Over the course of his career, he has been interested in gold exploration, massive volcanogenic sulphides, rare earths, diamonds, uranium and lithium, mainly in the greenstone belts of Canada: Quebec Abitibi, James Bay and Quebec's North Shore.
