In recognition of an excellent paper entitled “Characteristics of Mineralization at the Main Zone of the Clarence Stream Gold Deposit, Southwestern New Brunswick, Canada: Evidence for an Intrusion-Related Gold System in the Northern Appalachian Orogen.”
Louis J. Cabri has 45 years of experience with CANMET, where he was principal scientist from 1996 to 1999. Much of his work focused on process and applied mineralogy of precious and base metal ores. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (1996), currently adjunct professor at Memorial University, and has been working as an independent consultant since 1999. He has been a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) since 2002.
Louis has published over 200 papers and edited four books. He has also had roles with numerous minerals industry organizations: Chairman, Process Mineralogy Committee of TMS and SME (1997-99); President, Mineralogical Association of Canada (1984 and 1985); Scientific Editor of the Canadian Mineralogist (1975-1982); and Chairman, Geology Division of CIM (1978-1979). Louis is the recipient several awards, such as the CIM Selwyn Blaylock Medal (2004), MAC’s Past President’s Medal and the Leonard G. Berry Medal (1993).
