Eric Hinton is the co-owner of three important patents encompassing the operation of underground autonomous loading equipment, 3D mapping of rock faces, and analysing rock fragmentation. Such leading-edge technology was the result of an excellent technical and business education at Haileybury, Queen’s and Laurentian. Hinton worked at INCO directing research, feasibility studies and a shaft refurbishment. At Goldcorp, he was manager of automation, and at Golder, he was a senior consultant involved multimillion dollar projects. This was followed by a lengthy period as manager of exploration and mine development with Rubicon, and he is now involved in construction with Boge-Boge.
