Mel W. Bartley Outstanding Branch Award

The Val-d'Or Branch is very active in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It is an important vector of communication from one of the main mining regions of Quebec to the population of Val-d'Or. Founded in 1936, the Branch has been active for more than 80 years. It brings together individual and corporate members of the mining industry of the Vallée-de-l'Or community.

One of the main mandates of the Val-d'Or Branch is to promote the regional mining industry through social events, conferences and other events. These meetings help strengthen networking by establishing various contacts with people in the industrial or commercial environment. The Branch is also involved in organizing larger-scale events of a national nature.

Finally, through its mission of promoting technical and professional excellence, CIM Val d'Or awards various scholarships annually to students pursuing their studies in fields related to the mining industry.
