Chris Cormier is a seasoned mining engineer with over three decades of experience spanning operations, closure, and project management across the mining industry. Currently serving as the vice president of development joint ventures at Newmont Corporation in Vancouver, B.C., Chris is recognized for his ongoing commitment to safety, community, productivity and his peers. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Mining Technologist diploma from Northern College - Haileybury School of Mines. Since his early days in college, Chris has been an active member of CIM and other industry organizations, promoting and contributing to the broader mining community.
