CPS 2025: The Global Industry Event for Mining Capital Projects

CPS 2025 is the only global industry event dedicated 100% to mining capital projects, organized in partnership with CIM’s Management and Economics Society (MES). This year's focus is on synthesizing high-level strategies for successful project execution, development, and financing.

The symposium provides a focused environment for mine owners, operators, financiers, and EPCs to collaboratively tackle the critical challenges of the next investment cycle.

Key Strategic Pillars for CPS 2025

The program is structured across four high-impact sessions, designed to deliver actionable intelligence in the areas most vital to project success: Risk Management, Value Creation, and Future Readiness.

1. Project Development and Collaborative Risk Management

Focus: Collaborative strategies for project development in uncertain times

Key Insight: The program begins by framing the conversation around the power of purpose in project development, led by George Hemingway (Managing Partner, Stratalis). Key Insight: This session, featuring Leonardo Kaid (VP and General Manager North America, Fluor), will address the complex financing landscape. It focuses on practical methods to decode project success metrics and implement risk mitigation strategies that enhance project valuations for investors.

3. Execution Excellence and Capital Project Success

Focus: Setting up and driving capital projects to success

Key Insight: Drawing unique insights from transit infrastructure, speakers like Kyle Strickland and Viveka Parm will reveal how robust project delivery frameworks and rigorous program controls can be adapted to the mining sector to ensure excellence in capital project execution.

4. Real-World Case Studies and Lessons Learned

Focus: Real-world insights from past mining projects and case studies

Key Insight: The symposium concludes with industry expert Terry MacGibbon (Executive Chairman, former CEO of FNX Mining) sharing direct, unvarnished challenges and opportunities from historical projects.
