Excellence in mining deserves recognition, and last night industry leaders gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers at the annual CIM Awards Gala, sponsored by Caterpillar and its Canadian dealers.

“It is an honor to be here tonight to recognize the ‘best of the best,’” said outgoing CIM president, Garth Kirkham.

“This past year has been challenging for our industry,” said Juan Carlos Villegas, president of Finning Canada and COO of Finning International Inc. “We are all in this together and tonight is about celebrating the successes we’ve had over the past year.”

ET Canada’s Erin Cebula, who hosted the event for the third year in a row, added some pizzazz to the celebration and illusionist Ryan Joyce wrapped up the evening by wowing the crowd with his bag of tricks.
