Federal government launches Women Entrepreneurship Strategy

2018-10-31

Earlier this year, the federal government launched Canada’s first Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, committed to helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses through access to financing, talent, networks and expertise.

On October 26, 2018, the Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion announced the creation of an Expert Panel, to provide expert advice on the overall implementation of the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, gaps in services, and to share knowledge on the support available to women entrepreneurs in Canada. Members of the panel will serve on a part-time, volunteer basis, and share their experience, expertise and knowledge from the private sector and civil society to strengthen support for women entrepreneurs in Canada.

From October 26, 2018 to November 16, 2018, the federal government will be accepting applications for this expert panel. Individuals from the small business and entrepreneurship community and civil society such as entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial experts, social entrepreneurs or representatives from small business associations, are encouraged to apply.
