MEMO 2016 exceeded all projections

memo 2016

"MEMO 2016 was a symbol of green shoots of life coming back into our mining industry.  With over 500 people in attendance, we saw representation from major mining companies, juniors, suppliers, service providers, and a special delegation from West Africa.  I enjoyed talks on safety, innovation, productivity & cost reduction, asset management and mentoring.  A special highlight was the Diversity and Inclusion panel discussion held at the Vale Cavern.  While we face many challenges in our industry, I feel great hope for the future with the quality of the industry professionals I interacted with at MEMO 2016".

CIM’s Sudbury Branch, MER, SMS & UMS Societies were thrilled with a sold-out conference, a powerful plenary addressing "Leading and Managing in a Volatile Economy", packed technical rooms, stellar social events and an invigorated delegation of over 600 participants.  In addition to conference activities, the Branch hosted a very inspiring and thought provoking Diversity & Inclusion Panel Discussion.

Attendance numbers:

  • 326 conference delegates, all categories combined
  • 133 exhibitor representatives – for 30 booths
  • 157 trade show visitors
