Atlantic Mining, Touquoy Mine

St Barbara’s Touquoy Gold Mine began commercial production on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore in the spring of 2018 after a one-year construction phase. At its peak, over 300 Nova Scotians were employed at the Touquoy mine with over 400,000 ounces of gold being produced since 2018.  Extractive mining activities concluded in January 2023, but over 200 Nova Scotians continue to work to process existing ore stockpiles.

From the very start, the team working at St Barbara’s Atlantic Operations have always put safety first, and that is St Barbara’s primary corporate commitment.  Safety culture and caring about the safety of all team members is not something that is simply adhered to, it is a focus that is embraced and practiced at the site every day.
