Presentation: The Jansen Project - We Love Toads
BHP Billiton committed to a Canadian toad salvage program in the Jansen Project Environmental Impact Statement. Prior to earth works and wetland decommissioning, BHP Billiton contracted ERM (formerly Rescan) to implement a Canadian toad (Bufo hemiophrys) translocation and research program to alleviate the effects on toads at potential breeding sites within the planned construction area and gain a better understanding of the species. This presentation will describe the translocation and research project, including methodology and lessons learned.
