CIM Bulletin1942
THE recognition by C. W. McKee, field engineer for Springer Sturgeon Gold Mines, Limited, in the fall of 1940, of the economic possibilities of a small outcrop of baryres near Pembroke, in Hants county, Nova Scotia, followed by aggressive exploration and development by the Company, has placed Canada for the first time in its history in the position of becoming a major producer of barytes and its products.
