The Functions of a Dominion Department of Mines

CIM Bulletin1939
THIS paper is an endeavour to analyse the ideal and practical functions of government technical mining services, and their relationship to the National Domain, as well as to one another. Its spirit is not critical, even though at times it may appear to be so in fact. It is a serious effort to divert a trend in public thought which delights in calling itself practical whereas it is really merely short-sighted.
