Magnetic Surveys over Mineral, Diabase, and Artificial Dykes

CIM Bulletin1932
The detection of magnetic dykes by using magnetic variometers is the oldest application of . geophysics to mining, and is also one of the more simple and certain methods 0f locating such deposits. As a result of recent improvements in the instruments, it is now possible to find the dyke, determine with magnetic variometers its strike and dip', with fair accuracy, and to estimate the approximate depth of overburden when there is no outcrop.
