Oil Prospects of the Great Slave Lake and Mackenzie River Areas

OWING to the mineral discoveries which have recently been made in the Great Bear Lake region and the possibility of the need for fuel for transportation and development, it seems timely to review available information regarding the oil prospects in the vicinity of Great Slave lake and Mackenzie river, where a vast area is underlain by Palaeozoic and younger sediments that undoubtedly are perroliferous.
