REFLECTIONS ON COAL MINING SAFETY IN CHINA

The culture of safety is very important to coal mining production. About 90% of mine accidents are caused by human error. This paper analyzes the status of China’s coal mining accidents, and accident cause. This paper explains the concept of safety culture, the value of safety culture, as well as the relationships between safety culture and safety behavior, and between safety culture and science and technology. The paper proposes the model of safety culture and the ways to enhance safety culture of coal enterprises. Safety culture and safety production is closely related and are significant to the improvement of mine safety situation in China
