Canada's MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) Certification Program

Abstract The MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) Certification program was developed by PEMAC to meet the needs in Canada for formal workforce and professional training for individuals aspiring to maintenance and physical asset management management or specialist positions. The program was developed and is managed by PEMAC (Plant Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada)a national,not-for-profit industry and technical association for plant maintenance and physical asset management practitioners and professionals in Canada.

The MMP program instructors and facilators are approved by PEMAC and are industry professionals in maintenance and physical asset management. The program is delivered by the Canadian colleges of applied science and technology (Continuing Education or Contract Training departments)across Canada using in-class, on-site or on-line processes.

The program consists of 8 Modules:

Module 1 - Maintenance Management - Skills and Techniques using World Class practices (15h)
Module 2 - Operations and Producction for the Maintenance Manager (30h)
Module 3 - Human Resource Management for the Maintenance Manager (30h)
Module 4 - Financial Management for the Maintenance Manager (30h)
Module 5 - Developing Maintenance Tactics (30h)
Module 6 - Predictive Maintenance practices (30h)
Module 7 - CMMS or EAM (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems or Enterprise Asset Management) (30h)
Module 8 - Capstone Course (30h)

The presentation will show the learning outcomes and learning elements of the MMP program and outline the journey to world-class maintenance practices. We are planning on using two presenters, each from a leading mining company in Canada
