Gyratory Crusher Wear Monitoring Using Laser Technology

Abstract Crushing has proven to be of fundamental importance in mine mill integration
at Highland Valley Copper (HVC). Highland Valley Copper has achieved large
throughput and good quality control through the gyratory crushers by proper
blast design and better gap control. The next step in optimizing the mine
mill relationship is evaluating the crusher liner wear. To do this a laser
measurement device has been developed and data is being recorded on the
concave and mantle liner wear. This paper will outline the work to date and
indicate specific objectives of the work.
