Sensor based ore sorting

A special presentation made possible by McEwen Mining

Milling is a major expense for mine operations and ultimately most of the material that passes through the plant is waste. Sorting out that waste before it gets to the mill can go a long way to improving the economics of an operation. Brent Hilscher of Sacre-Davey Engineering describes how some early adopters of sensor-based ore sorting have found big gains with this technology.

The mining industry has a productivity problem. McEwen Mining has opened its Toronto office to the industry’s leaders and big thinkers to begin looking for solutions. Here are more of their ideas.
