Franco-Mine 2014: Join CIM and its partners of the governments of Canada and Quebec

The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) is holding the third edition of Franco -Mine 2014 and wants you involved .

This annual gathering of the mining industry stakeholders of the Francophonie at PDAC is made possible by CIM’s partnerships with the governments of Canada and Quebec - and with organizations like yours. Franco-Mine 2014 will bring together about 150 leaders and actors of corporations, financial institutions and governments involved in the exploration and exploitation of natural resources and development in Francophone Africa.

Franco–Mine Success

Franco- Mine is a prestigious gathering for its participants.  Franco- Mine 2013 was attended by delegations from Cameroon, Zambia, Burkina Faso , Gabon, Mali, Niger, Egypt, French Guiana, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Senegal. The Minister of International Trade signed two agreements for the promotion and protection of foreign investment with Cameroon and Zambia.

With the upcoming 15th Francophonie Summit in Dakar in November, Franco-Mine 2014 will focus on Africa as a world-class target for investors, with socioeconomic benefits for local communities.

A first plenary session will bring together leading Canadian companies active in Africa such as IAMGOLD, Windiga Energy, Managem and PharmAfrican, to discuss industry’s role as an engine of development in the region. A second plenary session will gather dignitaries from Canadian and foreign governments to share their perspectives, and a keynote luncheon will follow with the Fatima Dia, Director of the Institut de la Francophonie pour le développement durable, to close the event.
