With a proven track record as an executive in the mining industry over 35 years, Anne Marie Toutant currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at IAMGOLD. She is vice-president of the Calgary Women in Mining chapter and has served on charitable and industry related boards including the Suncor Energy Foundation and the Mining Association of Canada.  

Anne Marie held executive roles at Suncor Energy overseeing the initial start up/operations of the $18B Fort Hills project, deployment testing of autonomous trucks in northern Alberta, and final reclamation of Wapisiw Lookout. An operational and technical career at metallurgical and thermal coal mines for Luscar Ltd. and Cardinal River Coals Ltd. was highlighted with her becoming one of Canada’s early female mine managers in 1998. These experiences contributed to lifelong passions around safety, mentoring, sustainability, energy transition and technology. 

Anne Marie has been locally involved in CIM throughout her career and served as President of CIM in 2022/23. She is a recipient of the CIM Past Presidents’ Memorial Medal and was awarded a CIM Fellowship in 2008.
