Exploration Drilling Internationally

CIM MineSpace 2001
Abstract The increased pace of globalization in the mining industry has presented more opportunities for Canadian service companies to participate in ventures abroad. However, varying cultures, laws, competitive environments and contracting philosophies in other countries make it impossible to take for granted what is normal in the Canadian context.

The author discusses some of his experiences and situations encountered in over 30 years in the diamond drilling industry, the last third of which were primarily focussed on projects outside of this country.
