CIM and the Canadian Embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, will hold a one-day symposium on mining in the Burkinabe capital on June 21, 2014, covering three themes:
understanding the evolution and management of mining projects, in particular the logistics, procurement and clearance, and security/surveillance leading practices in community relations and dialogue the environment and the processing of gold ore, especially ore with high graphite content
A round table on the challenges associated with and solutions to mining supply in the sub-region will close the symposium. CIM’s first symposium in Burkina Faso will include the announcement of a new CIM branch in the capital, the second after Dakar, which was announced in 2012. It will also be a prelude to the creation of other branches in West Africa in the next 12 months to develop CIM’s Africa District.
