In recognition of his years of service and devotion to the Canadian mining industry through his involvement and commitment to global projects, continuing education, improvements in mine safety and public awareness of the mining industry.
William M. Shaver, senior vice-president, Mining Services and Operations Division, Dynatec Corporation, graduated from the School of Mines in Haileybury in 1969. In 1972, he received his Bachelor of Science (mining engineering) from Queen's University. Mr. Shaver co-founded Dynatec with W.R. (Bob) Dengler, president and Chief Executive Officer, in 1980. Over the past 24 years, he has been a driving force behind the development of the company's expertise and growing capabilities in the mining industry, and the progress it has made towards becoming a direct producer of base and precious metals. Mr. Shaver is also Chairman of the Board of MASHA (Mines and Aggregates Safety and Health Association).
