John Evans is a professional mining engineer who has gained full exposure to all aspects of mining by occupying a wide spectrum of positions in the mining industry, including underground miner, exploration geologist, mine engineer, mine manager, mining company executive, and independent mining consultant. He also has taken up academic appointments as professor and head of accredited university departments covering applied geology, mining engineering and metallurgy. His current areas of specialization are mineral economics and acting as a nexus between mine operators and governmental regulatory agencies.
