Historical development of the INCO SO2/AIR cyanide destruction process
Originally presented at TORONTO 94, CIMAGM, this paper has been updated to reflect the present status of business development for the SO2/AIR process. The paper reviews the background leading to the invention, discusses the process chemistry and historically tracks the commercial development. Engineering and cost considerations are presented.

Use of drainage trends as a prospecting tool in the central Iranian porphyry copper belt
Many porphyry copper deposits of the Kerman copper province in central Iran are associated with a consistent structurally controlled main drainage pattern, which is shown in this paper to be a useful regional prospecting tool in the search for new deposits. The main drainage trends also generally allow the distiction of high-grade (>0.2% Cu) from lowgrade (<0.2% Cu) deposits. Topographic maps
1:50 000 or geologic maps 1:100 000 have been found suitable for identification of promising drainages.

With several “green” applications on the horizon, bismuth has become an even more important minor metal in the smelting and refining of lead. Drawpoint control using radio frequency identification systems
Drawpoint control is critical in determining the cutoff point for load-haul-dump mucking operations to minimize dilution. It is also necessary to ensure even mucking distribution and to prevent possible hang-up of material within a stope.
