Lamella thickener performance in potash refining

Abstract The largest Canadian Lamella thickener installation to date, with 13,600 square feel of effective clarification area, is being successfully operated at the Rocanville Division of the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan. This paper describes the operational principles and design features of the Lamella thickener, the testwork leading to its specification for the Rocanville phase two expansion project and a review of the performance of the full-size unit which was ultimately installed.
