This paper presents a review of the existing ion exchange resin systems for treating unclarified pregnant liquor, with particular reference to uranium extraction. A new concept of a truly continuous ion exchange system is described and operating details are given of a 0.6-m (24-in.) diameter pilot plant treating unclarified acid leach liquor.
