The Adsorption of Dehydroabietylamine Acetate on Mineral Oxides
The adsorption of dehydroabietylamine acetate on quartz, hematite, rutile and baddeleyite has been determined for concentrations ranging from 0.3 to 5,600 μ. moles/I and for pH values ranging from 2.5 to 10.5. The surface tension, UV and IR spectra, equivalent conductance and ion concentrations for dehydroabietylamine acetate solutions have been determined. Contact-angle and flotability studies have established that good collection may be obtained with this amine but that selectivity depends on the suitable use of depressants for some of the minerals.
