Pacific Continental Margin

Solid-Earth Sciences in Canada
THE PACIFIC CONTINENTAL MARGIN OF CANADA is defined , for the purposes of this paper, as the area seaward from the present mainland coast of British Columbia to the foot of the continental slope. It thus coincides with A. Sutherland Brown's Insular Tectonic Belt. The region is limited to the north and south by the political boundary with the U.S.A., the location of which is still in dispute.
