Fire in Dominion No. 16 Colliery, New Waterford, Nova Scotia

CIM Bulletin1953
A FIRE which forced the sealing of the east side of Dominion No. 16 Colliery in the Town of New Waterford, Nova Scotia, occurred on October 6th, 1952 (Figure 1). So far as can be ascertained, the fire was first noticed in the roof of No. 7 East Lateral, after a brushing shot had been fired in the pavement. There appears to be no doubt that this shot blew out, igniting a small feeder in the roof.
