Determination of Uranium in Ores

CIM Bulletin1952
W HEN the investigation of radioactive ores began at 'the Mines Branch about five years ago it was a:t once evident that improved chemical methods for the determination of uranium were essential. The pu1blished methods available were time-consuming and insensi>tive and were lacking in accuracy and preci:sion. It was desirable to o'btain methods which wouJd be rapid, sensitive, and accurate. They should also allow for the possible presence of any interfering elements and should be adaptable to routine analysis by technicians.
