Planning in Coal Mining

CIM Bulletin1938
MR. T. L. McCALL: Planning ahead in coal-mining is essential, but the question may be raised, just how far ahead can we plan . You can overdo it : chat is, you can get in a rut. Never let planning get a hold on you to chat extent. You must be prepared to deal intelligently with any new conditions that arise, and to apply new discoveries. It may become necessary to abandon your plan, make the best you can of the ground you have developed, and start again, with a new plan .
