COAL-DUST EXPLOSIONS. SUGGESTION.S FOR THEIR PREVENTION, AND THE RECOVERY OF MINES AFTER EXPLOSIONS

The principal sources of coal-dust underground are, of course, coal, and the working of coal. Coal-dust is most dangerous when it is in the finest state of division. This class of dust is found mostly on the roads, being blown or shaken off the loaded trams in transit, or carried in suspension by air currents.
